A GOOD 16-BORE PERCUSSION SILVER-MOUNTED SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, no visible serial number,
converted to percussion from an earlier flintlock arm circa 1846, with round browned twist-iron 34in. barrel, gold bead and spider fore-sight, triple gold bands at breech with an inlet oval poincon signed 'MOORE, CHOLSEY' engraved steeple surmounted by a starburst forwards of breech and flanked by the initials 'R' and 'L', the whole topped with a peacock crest (possibly for the 'Manners' family), fully engraved top-tang featuring the same crest but reversed, engraved bevel-edged lock with a further inlet gold oval poincon signed 'MOORE, CHOLSEY', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, silver furniture hallmarked for Birmingham 1802 including heel-plate (engraved detail rubbed), trigger-guard with raised scrolled tang and ramrod throat, horn fore-end tip and brass tipped ebony ramrod
